Week 17: May 29 - June 1
Week 17
The final at the end of the semester is approaching. Here are some of the review materials that I will be handing out next week.
Second Semester Concepts
Definitions worksheet
Finally here is an honors assignment from the waves unit that some students have been doing for extra credit.
optional honors assignment for extra credit. There are several possibilities listed. It may be done more than once.
Goals:
1. Be able to describe what gravity is.
2. Be able to use and explain the equation for the law of universal gravitation: F = m*m/d2. (I'm unable to write superscripts and subscripts here. The equation is saying that the force due to gravitybetween two objects is proportional to the product of the two masses divided by the distance between them squared.)
3. Be able to support the law of universal gravitation with graphs.
Activities:
Block day: Go through background information worksheet. Collect data for lab on computers. Homework: Write Introduction for the Gravity Lab. Links to handout with the lab report description and the introduction worksheet
Thursday: Discuss Lab results. Make four graphs of results. Homework: Write conclusion for the lab.
Friday: Practice problems about Gravity. Review. Quiz. Notebook.
