Week 15: January 2-5 Goals and Activities
Goals:
1. Be able to list general properties of metals: shiny, malleable, conduct electricity, reactive with oxygen and acid, solid at room temperature.
2. Be able to rank common metals in terms of their reactivity with acid.
3. Be able to write, draw and balance simple reactions.
4. Know that atoms and mass are conserved in a reaction.
Activities:
Block day: Lab - Reacting Metals with Acids Link for Lab Handout. Homework - Finish balancing reactions and write a conclusion for the lab.
Thursday: Demonstration reacting HCl with Sodium, Balance Reaction for Aluminum, Brass Pennies!, Homework - Reading and Questions "Learn about Metals"
Friday: , Review, Catch-up, Quiz
