  Week 10-11 Nov 14 - 23
Goals:
1. Know the density of water: 1g/ml.
2. Know what mass, volume and density are and how to measure them.
3. Know that the density of a pure substance is constant (at a given temperature and pressure).
4. Know that the solid phase is almost always more dense than the liquid phase, but that water is an exception.
5. Know that fresh water is a precious and effectively limited resource.

Activities:
Monday: Questions and answers about why water is important to study and an activity about surface tension. Why is water a "sticky molecule"? Extra credit for an answer.
Block: Determine the density of water. Link to handout Finish questions as homework.
Thursday: Determine the density of ice.
Friday: Review sheet . (This copy is missing some important pictures that are handdrawn on the in-class version.) Link to homework handout.
Monday: Go over homework. Word sort about vocabulary. Start Density Challenge
Block Day: Finish density Challenge. Share Posters. Quiz

This weeks notebook should have.
1. Density of a pure substance part 1.
2. Graph
3. Density of ice worksheet
4. Density review sheet
